The VariZoom VZAV/LANC adapter cable enables the connection of compatible LANC camera remote controls to selected Sony camcorders with a Mini-AV connector. It is designed for cameras that do not have a separate 2.5mm LANC connector, but support the corresponding remote control functions via their AV connector.
The cable connects the LANC plug of the remote control to the AV connector of the camera. This allows compatible VariZoom remote controls to continue to be used for functions such as zoom and record start/stop, provided the respective camera supports these control commands.
The VZAV/LANC adapter is designed for various VariZoom controllers, including VZROCK, VZSTEALTH, VZPRO-L and VZPG-L. The available remote control functions depend on the remote control used and the respective camera model.
The adapter cable itself has no controls and serves exclusively as a connection between the camera and a compatible LANC remote control.
For Sony cameras with a compatible Mini-AV connector, the VZAV/LANC adapter cable is connected directly to the camera.
If the camera instead features a Sony Multi-Terminal connector, the additional Sony VMC-AVM1 adapter is required. This provides the necessary AV connector to which the VZAV/LANC cable is then connected.
Important: Not every AV or Multi-Terminal connector automatically supports LANC remote control functions. Compatibility depends on the camera model.
