D-TAP / P-TAP Socket with 50 cm Cable, Pre-Wired
Ready for custom DC power builds and cable assemblies
article number: 9862 | manufacturer number: DTAP_KABEL_BUCHSE | EAN/UPC: 758263167489
This PowerTap / D-Tap / P-Tap socket comes pre-assembled with an approx. 50 cm connection cable and is suitable for building custom power supplies, adapter cables, and distribution solutions in the camera, broadcast, and battery sector.
The red-black connection cable makes it easy to identify polarity and can be integrated into existing power supply setups. This makes the socket particularly suitable for users who want a reliable PowerTap coupling ready to use without having to solder it themselves.
The pre-assembled socket saves time when building individual DC power cables. It can be used, for example, for battery adapters, device leads, distribution cables, or custom power supplies.
PowerTap, D-Tap, and P-Tap connectors are widely used in professional camera and broadcast environments and are frequently used to power camera accessories, monitors, wireless systems, recorders, or LED lights.
The open cable end allows further processing as needed. The socket can thus be combined with suitable connectors, distributors, or device leads.
On request, we also manufacture matching adapter and power supply cables individually to specification.

Questions & Answers▲
What type of connector does this socket use?
The socket uses the PowerTap / D-Tap / P-Tap standard, which is one of the most widely used connector types in professional camera, broadcast, and battery environments.
How long is the pre-attached cable?
The pre-assembled cable is approximately 50 cm long, providing enough length for most custom adapter and distribution builds.
How can I identify the polarity of the cable?
The cable uses a red and black color coding. Red indicates the positive conductor and black indicates the negative conductor, making polarity identification straightforward during installation.
Do I need to solder the socket myself?
No soldering is required. The socket comes fully pre-assembled with the connection cable already attached, so it is ready for direct integration into your power build or cable assembly.
What can this socket be used for?
It is suitable for building custom DC power supplies, battery adapter cables, distribution solutions, and device leads. Typical applications include powering monitors, wireless systems, recorders, LED lights, and other camera accessories.
What do I do with the open cable end?
The open end of the cable can be processed further as needed. You can attach suitable connectors, integrate it into a distribution board, or terminate it with a device-specific plug depending on your application.
Is custom cable assembly available?
Yes, custom adapter and power supply cables can be manufactured individually to specification upon request.
Are PowerTap, D-Tap, and P-Tap the same connector type?
Yes, PowerTap, D-Tap, and P-Tap are different trade names for the same connector standard. They are fully compatible with one another and are used interchangeably across the industry.
Is this a male or female connector?
This is a socket, meaning it is the female version of the D-Tap connector. It is designed to receive a matching D-Tap plug from a battery, power supply, or distribution device.
What should I check before connecting the socket to a device?
Always verify the polarity before making any connection to a camera, battery, or accessory. Incorrect wiring can cause damage to connected devices and should be avoided by double-checking the red and black conductors against the target device pinout.
In which industries is this socket commonly used?
The D-Tap standard is predominantly used in professional film and video production, broadcast environments, and battery management setups where quick and reliable DC power distribution is required.
