PowerTap DTUSB2X D-TAP on 2 USB-A sockets

The PowerTap DTUSB2X adapter cable enables the power supply of two compatible USB devices via the D-TAP connector of a professional camera battery. An integrated DC/DC voltage converter reduces the battery voltage to a regulated 5 V DC.

The two USB-A sockets provide a combined maximum output current of 2 A. This corresponds to a total output power of up to 10 W. The adapter is suitable for compatible camera and video accessories such as audio transmitters, video transmitters, and other USB devices with correspondingly low power requirements.

The DTUSB2X is designed for standard professional D-TAP camera batteries with a nominal voltage of 14.4 V or 14.8 V. The higher voltage of a fully charged battery is also supported.

The two USB-A sockets allow the simultaneous connection of two compatible 5 V devices. For example, two smaller accessories can be powered from the same camera battery supply.

The maximum output current of 2 A applies to both USB ports combined, not to each socket individually. When used simultaneously, the total current draw of all connected devices must not exceed 2 A.

The adapter cable thus offers a compact way to use existing D-TAP camera batteries for USB-powered production accessories as well.

The DTUSB2X features an integrated voltage converter module that converts the higher voltage of the camera battery to 5 V DC. Power is supplied directly via the D-TAP connector, so no additional USB power supply is required.

The compact converter module measures approx. 42 × 22 × 10 mm and can be integrated into existing camera and video setups in a space-saving manner.

Important: The adapter cable is intended for USB devices with 5 V power supply. Devices that require USB Power Delivery, Quick Charge, or a higher supply voltage cannot be considered compatible solely on the basis of the USB connector.

With a total length of approx. 135 cm, the PowerTap DTUSB2X provides sufficient reach for the connection between the camera battery and externally mounted accessories.

The distance from the D-TAP connector to the voltage converter is approx. 97 cm. Between the voltage converter and the two USB-A sockets there are approx. 32 cm. The total weight is only approx. 60 g.

If required, the adapter cable can be individually shortened to a minimum total length of approx. 42 cm at the time of ordering. The desired length must be specified when placing the order.
