The PowerTap DTMU adapter cable enables compatible Mini-USB devices to be powered via the D-TAP connector of a professional camera battery. An integrated voltage converter reduces the battery voltage to 5 V DC.
The Mini-USB output delivers a maximum of 1 A, providing an output power of up to 5 W. The cable is suitable for compatible video and camera accessories that can be powered via Mini-USB at 5 V and require no more than 1 A.
The adapter is suitable for use with standard 14.4 V and 14.8 V D-TAP camera batteries, including their full charge voltage.
Inside the cable is a compact voltage converter module that steps down the higher voltage of the connected camera battery to 5 V DC.
This allows suitable Mini-USB devices to be powered directly from the existing camera battery supply, without the need for an additional separate 5 V power supply.
Important: The connected device must be rated for 5 V DC. The maximum current draw must not exceed 1 A. Devices with higher power requirements are not suitable for this adapter.
With a total length of approx. 135 cm, the DTMU enables the connection between a D-TAP camera battery and a separately mounted Mini-USB device.
The cable section from the D-TAP connector to the voltage converter measures approx. 97 cm. From the voltage converter to the Mini-USB connector, the length is approx. 32 cm. The converter module itself measures approx. 60 × 17 × 9 mm.
Due to the low overall weight of approx. 40 g, the adapter is also suitable for compact and mobile camera setups.

Questions & Answers▲
What is the PowerTap DTMU adapter cable used for?
The PowerTap DTMU powers compatible Mini-USB devices via the D-TAP connector of a camera battery. An integrated voltage converter reduces the battery voltage to 5 V DC and provides a maximum of 1 A.
What input voltage does the DTMU adapter support?
The DTMU is suitable for common professional D-TAP camera batteries with a nominal voltage of 14.4 V or 14.8 V. The higher voltage of a fully charged battery is also supported. An exact extended input voltage range is not specified.
How much power does the Mini-USB output deliver?
The Mini-USB output provides 5 V DC at a maximum of 1 A. This corresponds to a maximum output power of 5 W. Connected devices must not exceed this power limit.
Can I use any Mini-USB device with the DTMU?
No. The connected device must be designed for a supply of 5 V DC and must not require more than 1 A. In addition, the Mini-USB connector and pin assignment must be compatible.
How long is the PowerTap DTMU adapter cable?
The adapter cable has a total length of approx. 135 cm. Of this, approx. 97 cm covers the section between the D-TAP connector and the voltage converter, and approx. 32 cm covers the section between the voltage converter and the Mini-USB connector. The converter module is approx. 6 cm long.
