Questions & Answers

What is the difference between the master headset and a remote headset in the PRO16 system?

The master headset is the central control unit of the PRO16 system. It is mandatory to integrate remote headsets into the system. The PRO16 intercom system cannot be operated without a master headset. Remote headsets are the supplementary participant units that are built around the master headset.

How many participants can communicate simultaneously in the PRO16 system?

The PRO16 system supports up to 16 participants. The master headset takes over the coordination of all connected remote headsets within the system.

What range does the headset achieve under real conditions?

The maximum range is up to 914 meters. This value applies under a clear line of sight without obstacles. In practice, for example in buildings, through walls or in hilly terrain, the actual range can be correspondingly lower.

Does a key have to be held down during communication?

No. The system works with full duplex technology so that all participants can speak and hear at the same time without having to press a talk button. Communication is completely hands-free.

Why is the headset designed on one side?

The one-sided design ensures low weight and high wearing comfort over longer periods of time. At the same time, one ear remains free so that the wearer can continue to hear ambient noise. This is particularly advantageous in environments such as stages, events or productions.

How long does the battery last when fully charged?

The battery offers a runtime of up to 10 hours. The battery is replaceable, so that a charged replacement battery can be inserted if necessary to continue operation without interruption.

What frequency band does the headset work on and is it susceptible to interference?

The headset works in the 2.4 GHz band between 2407 MHz and 2475 MHz. To avoid interference, Automatic Frequency Hopping is used, in which the device automatically switches between available frequencies. This means that the connection is comparatively stable even in radio-rich environments.

How heavy is the headset?

The headset weighs 215 grams. For a one-sided headset with integrated electronics and a replaceable battery, this is a practical value for longer periods Wearing times.

Can this master headset be used as a replacement for a defective device in an existing PRO16 system?

Yes. The device is expressly suitable as a replacement device, expansion or exchange within existing PRO16 systems. It can be integrated directly into an existing PRO16 system.

What speech coding is used and does this have an impact on the sound quality?

The system uses ADPCM speech coding with 16 bits. This coding is designed for efficient transmission with low latency and provides sufficiently clear voice quality for intercom use.

What is the maximum transmission power of the headset?

The maximum transmission power is 80 mW. This value corresponds to typical requirements for radio-based intercom systems in the license-free 2.4 GHz range.

For which areas of application is this headset particularly suitable?

The headset is suitable wherever several people need to communicate with each other reliably and hands-free, for example Stage productions, sporting events, trade fairs, film productions or in the security industry. The long range and hands-free full duplex system make it suitable for coordination-intensive environments.
