Questions & Answers▲
How many Ground Control Points are included in the Hoodman HGCP610?
The Hoodman HGCP610 kit includes five Ground Control Points numbered 6 through 10. Each marker has a diameter of 3 ft or approximately 91.4 cm.
What applications is the Hoodman HGCP610 suitable for?
The HGCP610 is designed for drone surveying, photogrammetry, drone mapping, aerial surveying, and other surveying and documentation projects that require clearly visible and uniquely numbered reference points on the ground.
Do the Hoodman Ground Control Points need to be secured with stakes?
In normal use, additional securing is not strictly necessary. The weighted outer rim helps keep the markers in position. For longer-term placement, four attachment loops are available on each Ground Control Point.
What purpose do the 24-inch markings on the Ground Control Points serve?
24-inch scaling markers are integrated into the pattern of each Ground Control Point. They provide a defined size reference within the marker and can be used when processing and referencing survey and aerial imaging data.
How can the GPS coordinates of the Ground Control Point be determined precisely?
Each Ground Control Point features an eyelet at the center of the marker. A surveying rod can be positioned there, allowing GPS coordinates to be captured precisely at the center of the reference point.
Can the Hoodman HGCP610 be combined with the HGCP15?
Yes. The HGCP610 contains Ground Control Points numbered 6 through 10, complementing the HGCP15 with numbers 1 through 5. Together, ten uniquely numbered Ground Control Points are available for larger surveying and photogrammetry projects.
