Questions & Answers

What is the primary function of the Eartec HUB Interface?

The Eartec HUB Interface connects Eartec wireless intercom systems to existing analog partyline intercom systems based on the Clear-Com standard. This allows wireless and wired communication solutions to be used together in a single setup.

Which partyline systems are compatible with this interface?

The interface is compatible with Clear-Com, RTS, Telex, Blackmagic, and other partyline systems that follow the Clear-Com standard.

What connectors does the interface use?

For the partyline side, the interface uses a 3-pin XLR female connector. For the connection to the Eartec HUB system, it uses a multi-connector supporting 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm jack plugs.

How many wireless users can communicate through the interface at the same time?

Up to 8 wireless users can be connected simultaneously via the Eartec HUB base station.

Does the interface support full-duplex audio communication?

Yes, the interface supports full-duplex communication, meaning all participants can speak and listen at the same time without switching between modes.

How many communication channels does the interface provide?

The interface provides 2 communication channels, which can be used as separate channels A and B or combined into a single channel depending on the application.

Can the volume between the partyline and wireless systems be adjusted independently?

Yes, the interface features separate volume controls for both directions. The left buttons adjust the volume from the partyline system to the wireless system, while the right buttons adjust the volume from the wireless system to the partyline system. The red button increases the level and the white button decreases it.

Can the interface be used as a standalone device without additional hardware?

No, the interface requires an Eartec HUB base station to operate. It is designed as an expansion component and cannot function independently.

For which industries or applications is the interface best suited?

The interface is particularly well suited for broadcast productions, event technology, theatre, and live productions where both wired partyline and wireless intercom users need to communicate within the same system.

Can the interface be integrated into an already existing partyline installation?

Yes, the interface is designed to expand existing partyline installations by adding wireless participants without replacing or modifying the core infrastructure.

Is the Eartec HUB Interface suitable for hybrid intercom setups?

Yes, it is specifically designed for hybrid setups where some crew members use wired partyline beltpacks while others use wireless Eartec headsets, all communicating within the same intercom system.
