AVMATRIX SC1112-12G – 12G-SDI to HDMI 2.0 Converter

The AVMATRIX SC1112-12G is a compact broadcast converter for converting professional SDI signals to HDMI 2.0. HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI are supported. The incoming input signal is detected automatically, so no manual selection of the SDI format is required during normal operation.

In addition to the HDMI 2.0 output, the converter features an SDI loop output. This allows the incoming SDI signal to be passed through in parallel to another SDI device while simultaneously connecting an HDMI monitor, display or other HDMI endpoint.

The SC1112-12G automatically detects HD, 3G, 6G and 12G-SDI input signals and converts them for output via HDMI 2.0. Supported resolutions range from 1280×720 and 1920×1080 up to UHD and DCI 4K formats at 3840×2160 and 4096×2160 pixels respectively, at frame rates of up to 60 frames per second. 3G-SDI Level A and Level B are also supported.

The SDI interface supports, among others, SMPTE ST 2081, ST 2082, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 296M, SMPTE 424M-B, SMPTE 274M and SMPTE 425M.

Via HDMI, resolutions from 1280×720 up to 4096×2160 can be output at refresh rates of up to 60 Hz. RGB 8-bit, YCbCr 4:2:2 at 8-bit and 10-bit, and YCbCr 4:4:4 at 8-bit are supported. The HDMI output complies with CTA-861-G.

With a maximum output resolution of 4096×2160 pixels at up to 60 Hz, the SC1112-12G is also suitable for modern UHD and DCI 4K production environments. The automatic format detection is particularly beneficial for mobile use and installations with varying SDI signal sources.

On the SDI side, the converter features equalization and re-clocking. This signal processing serves to stabilize signal quality, particularly over more demanding transmission paths, and to reduce signal degradation caused by transmission. This makes the SC1112-12G suitable for professional broadcast and AV installations where reliable SDI signal transmission is required.

The SC1112-12G is powered via USB Type-C at 5 V with a maximum of 0.9 A. The maximum power consumption is therefore 4.5 W. The 5 V supply allows the converter to be used flexibly in mobile or permanently installed production environments.

The USB Type-C port also serves for firmware updates and for checking the installed firmware version.

With dimensions of 107.6×58×19 mm and a weight of 235 g, the SC1112-12G has a compact form factor and can be easily integrated into mobile production systems or fixed AV and broadcast installations. An optional mounting bracket is available for permanent installation.

The scope of delivery includes a 5 V/2 A power supply and a USB 2.0 A to USB-C cable.

The AVMATRIX SC1112-12G is suitable for broadcast, video and AV applications where professional SDI sources need to be connected to HDMI-capable monitors, displays or other HDMI devices. Typical applications include live productions, studios, virtual studios, event technology, educational institutions, conference systems and film productions.

The additional SDI loop output allows the original SDI signal to be simultaneously passed through within the existing SDI signal chain. This makes it possible, for example, to add an HDMI confidence monitor without interrupting the downstream SDI signal path.
