AVMatrix HVS0402U 4-channel HDMI video mixer

The AVMatrix HVS0402U is a compact digital Full-HD video mixer for live production, streaming, presentations, training and AV applications. The mixer features 4 HDMI inputs, 2 HDMI outputs and a USB-C output for streaming and recording on a computer via UVC/UAC standard.

Via the USB-C output, the HVS0402U can be integrated like a webcam in streaming and conference software, for example in OBS, XSplit, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, YouTube Live, Facebook Live or Twitch. The HDMI inputs support video formats up to 1920 × 1080/60p and are detected automatically.

For live operation, classic switching functions such as T-Bar, Auto and Cut are available. In addition, the HVS0402U supports various transition effects such as Mix, Dip and Wipe. This allows cameras, presentation sources, media players or computers to be mixed live professionally and without additional hardware.

The two HDMI outputs can be used flexibly, for example as a program output, multiview output or AUX output. The USB output can also be assigned to the desired signal path. This allows PGM, multiview or individual input signals to be directed to HDMI or USB as required by the application.

The HVS0402U offers extensive features for live productions, including picture-in-picture, POP display, Luma Key, Chroma Key, downstream key and logo overlay. Images for logos or overlays can be imported from an external storage medium. Supported storage media are up to 256 GB with FAT32, Ext3 or Ext4, and supported image formats include JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF and TGA.

The integrated audio mixer handles HDMI embedded audio as well as two 3.5 mm microphone/line inputs. Audio mixing can be performed automatically via audio-follow-video or manually. An audio delay is also available to better synchronise picture and sound in streaming or recording applications.

The video mixer can be operated directly on the unit or via Windows control software over a network. A tally output enables signalling of active cameras. The robust metal chassis with a 1/4-inch tripod thread on the underside is suitable for mobile productions, small control rooms, training rooms, churches, clubs and compact streaming setups.

The control software is designed for Windows systems from Windows 7 onwards.

External storage media up to 256 GB with FAT32, Ext3 or Ext4 are supported. For imported images, JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF and TGA are supported.
