This Hirose cable is used to power broadcast lenses with a 20-pin Hirose connector. It is suitable for Fujinon 20-pin lenses such as the Fujinon Cabrio 19-90mm, among others.
The cable enables the use of the DC output on the Sony XDCA-FS7 extension module to power a 20-pin camera lens. The connection runs from the 4-pin Hirose output of the XDCA-FS7 to the 20-pin Hirose connector on the lens.
In addition, the record button on the lens is transmitted directly to the camera. This allows recording to be started and stopped via the lens. The zoom buttons on the lens can also be used in this setup.

Questions & Answers▲
What does this cable connect?
The cable connects the 4-pin Hirose DC output of the Sony XDCA-FS7 extension module to the 20-pin Hirose connector on compatible broadcast lenses, enabling power supply and control signal transmission between the two devices.
Does the cable require the Sony XDCA-FS7 extension module?
Yes. The cable is designed specifically for use with the Sony FS7 camera in combination with the XDCA-FS7 extension module, which provides the 4-pin Hirose DC output used on the camera side of this cable.
Which lenses are compatible with this cable?
The cable is compatible with broadcast lenses that feature a 20-pin Hirose connector. A confirmed example is the Fujinon Cabrio 19-90mm. Other Fujinon 20-pin broadcast lenses are also supported.
Can I start and stop recording using the lens when this cable is connected?
Yes. The record start/stop signal from the lens is transmitted directly to the Sony FS7 camera via this cable, allowing you to control recording from the lens without touching the camera body.
Does the cable support zoom control from the lens?
Yes. When using compatible 20-pin broadcast lenses such as a Fujinon Cabrio model, the zoom function buttons on the lens remain operational through this cable connection.
How long is the cable?
The cable has a length of 50 cm, which is suitable for the short run between the XDCA-FS7 extension module and the mounted lens.
What type of connector design does the cable use?
The cable features a special design with an angled connector, which helps manage cable routing in confined spaces around the camera and lens setup.
Does the cable supply power to the lens or only transmit control signals?
The cable does both. It carries DC power from the XDCA-FS7 output to the lens via the 20-pin connector and simultaneously transmits control signals including record start/stop and zoom functions.
Is this cable suitable for use with cameras other than the Sony FS7?
The camera-side connector is specifically a 4-pin Hirose type matched to the XDCA-FS7 extension module. Compatibility with other camera systems would need to be verified individually based on connector type and pin assignment.
Can I request a customized or modified version of this cable?
Yes. Custom modifications or special requests can be submitted by email to info@cvc.de. The team can provide information on what adjustments are possible.
