EZFX Dutch Tilt Plate – Intermediate Plate for 90-Degree Camera Mounting

The EZFX Dutch Tilt Plate is an intermediate plate for mounting a camera at a 90-degree angle. It enables a lateral tilt of the camera to the left or right, expanding creative movement possibilities beyond conventional pan and tilt.

The Dutch Tilt Plate allows you to create the so-called Dutch tilt effect, in which the camera image is deliberately angled. This technique is frequently used for dynamic, dramatic, or intentionally unconventional image compositions.

The plate is compatible with broadcast camera mounting plates and is inserted between the camera mount and the mounting system.

Compatibility

Use is only possible with suitable mounting plates for broadcast cameras. Please verify mechanical compatibility with the existing camera plate and the respective mounting system before use.

Questions & Answers

What does the EZFX Dutch Tilt Plate actually do?

It is an intermediate adapter plate that mounts between a broadcast camera and its mounting system, rotating the camera 90 degrees sideways to enable a lateral tilt to the left or right.

What is the Dutch tilt effect and why is it used?

The Dutch tilt is a filmmaking technique in which the camera is deliberately angled diagonally rather than kept level. It is commonly used to create dynamic, dramatic, or unconventional image compositions in broadcast and film productions.

Where exactly is the plate inserted in the camera setup?

The plate is inserted between the camera mount and the existing mounting system, acting as an intermediate adapter to introduce the 90-degree lateral tilt position.

Is the Dutch Tilt Plate compatible with all camera systems?

It is designed for use with compatible mounting plates of broadcast cameras. Mechanical compatibility with the specific camera plate and mounting system should be verified before use, as not every setup may be suitable.

Can the camera be tilted both to the left and to the right?

Yes, the plate enables lateral tilt to either side, giving the operator flexibility in choosing the direction of the Dutch angle depending on the desired creative result.

What material is the plate made from?

The plate is constructed from aluminium, which provides a stable and lightweight build suitable for professional broadcast use.

How much does the plate weigh?

The EZFX Dutch Tilt Plate weighs approximately 300 grams, making it a relatively lightweight addition to the camera rig.

Does the plate allow for movement during a shot, or is it a fixed position?

The plate sets the camera in a fixed 90-degree lateral tilt position. Any pan or tilt movement is then controlled by the underlying mounting system as usual.

Does the use of this plate affect the standard pan and tilt functionality of the mounting system?

Pan and tilt functionality of the underlying mounting system remains available. The plate expands creative possibilities by adding a lateral roll axis rather than replacing existing movement options.

Is this plate intended for professional broadcast use or also for smaller camera setups?

The plate is designed for broadcast camera systems with compatible mounting plates, so it is primarily aimed at professional broadcast applications rather than compact or consumer camera setups.
