Questions & Answers

What is included in the DVTEC Waist Support Kit?

The kit includes a 2-stage spring support, a hip belt with holster (mounting pouch), a screwable mounting pin, and click lock or connecting elements for attachment to the rig system.

Can this kit be used to upgrade an existing MultiRig system?

Yes. The Waist Support Kit is specifically designed for retrofitting existing DVTEC MultiRig systems, effectively converting them into a MultiRig Stabilizer PLUS configuration with added hip support.

Is the kit compatible with custom or individual camera rig builds?

Yes. In addition to MultiRig systems, the kit is suitable for individual camera rigs and custom constructions. The screwable mounting pin can be flexibly installed to create a stable connection in non-standard setups.

What is the adjustable length range of the spring support?

The spring support can be adjusted to a length of approximately 420 to 750 mm, allowing it to be adapted to different operator body dimensions and rig configurations.

How much does the spring support weigh?

The spring support weighs approximately 305 to 390 grams, depending on the selected spring strength. The hip belt weighs approximately 387 grams, and the holster adds around 69 grams.

What hip circumference does the belt accommodate?

The hip belt is adjustable and fits hip circumferences of approximately 75 to 135 cm. The belt height measures approximately 11 to 13 cm and features a padded textile construction with a Velcro closure.

What materials are used in the spring support?

The spring support is constructed from aluminium and a steel spring. Additional components across the full kit also incorporate brass, ensuring durability and reliable performance during extended use.

How does the 2-stage spring mechanism benefit camera operation?

The two-stage spring support provides even dampening across the range of motion. This helps to absorb vibrations and camera weight more consistently, resulting in smoother shots and reduced operator fatigue during longer takes.

What is the purpose of the holster included with the kit?

The holster is mounted on the hip belt and serves as the receiver for the lower end of the spring support. It uses a clip or click system to securely hold the spring support in place while allowing quick attachment and detachment.

What are the dimensions of the holster?

The holster measures approximately 165 × 90 × 30 mm, making it compact enough to sit comfortably on the hip belt without restricting the operator's movement.

Does the kit help reduce strain when carrying heavy camera setups?

Yes. By distributing the camera weight via the hip belt and spring support, the load is transferred away from the arms and shoulders. This allows for longer shooting sessions with greater stability and reduced physical strain on the operator.

How is the mounting pin attached to a custom rig?

The mounting pin is screwable, meaning it can be threaded into compatible mounting points on a rig frame. This provides a stable and secure connection point for the spring support and is suitable for both standard and individually constructed rigs.
