The CTC Remote Head is a motorized pan and tilt head for cameras weighing up to 3.6 kg. It is suitable for camera cranes, jibs, and other applications where the camera needs to be moved and controlled precisely from a distance.
Control is achieved via a remote control with proportional joystick movement. This allows for both slow, controlled camera movements as well as faster pan and tilt movements.
The scope of delivery includes the pan/tilt head, the remote control, a 30 m cable set, and a power supply.
The Remote Head operates with high-torque DC motors. Maxon digital motors are used, as also found in the PT20 and PT30 models.
The speed is up to 4 revolutions per minute. The full pan and tilt range allows flexible camera positions in studio, crane, and jib applications.
Correct balancing of the camera is important for smooth operation. The camera should be mounted as close as possible to the center of gravity of the pan and tilt axis, so that the motors operate evenly and controlled movements are possible.
The camera mount allows adjustment of the camera position to compensate for different camera weights and form factors. Camera balance should be set carefully, especially with heavier cameras.
The power supply connects via a standard DC barrel connector measuring 5.5 x 2.1 mm. The included power supply provides the Remote Head with the required operating voltage.
When using other power supplies, ensure the correct output voltage and polarity to avoid damage to the unit.
The CTC Remote Head is suitable for video productions, studio use, camera cranes, jibs, presentation setups, and other applications where a camera needs to be panned and tilted from a distance.

Questions & Answers▲
What is the maximum camera load the CTC PT8 can support?
The CTC PT8 supports cameras weighing up to 3.6 kg.
What type of motors does the PT8 use?
It uses Maxon digital DC motors, the same motor technology found in the PT20 and PT30 models.
How fast can the head move?
The maximum speed is up to 4 revolutions per minute.
How is the pan and tilt head controlled?
Control is via a joystick remote control with proportional movement, allowing slow and precise camera positioning from a distance.
What does proportional joystick control mean in practice?
Proportional control means the speed of the pan or tilt movement corresponds directly to how far the joystick is deflected, enabling smooth and gradual camera movements.
What cable length is included in the scope of delivery?
A 30 m cable set is included.
What is included in the scope of delivery?
The package includes the remote head, the joystick remote control, a 30 m cable set, and a power supply.
What power supply connector does the PT8 use?
The power supply connects via a standard DC barrel connector with dimensions of 5.5 x 2.1 mm.
Is the PT8 suitable for use at remote or elevated camera positions?
Yes, it is designed for applications where the camera needs to be moved and controlled precisely from a distance, making it suitable for elevated or otherwise inaccessible positions.
Can the PT8 be used with a separate power supply?
Yes, the head is powered via a standard 5.5 x 2.1 mm DC barrel connector, so a compatible third-party power supply can also be used.
