The AVMATRIX UC1218-4K PRO is a professional external HDMI capture box for recording and transmitting video and audio signals via USB 3.1 Gen 2. It enables the integration of HDMI cameras, video mixers, media players and other HDMI sources into a computer for live streaming, video recording and video conferencing.
Via the HDMI 2.0 input, the capture box processes video signals up to 3840 × 2160 at 60 frames per second. Transmission to the computer is handled via USB-C at up to 10 Gbit/s. Depending on the selected video format, the device also supports USB capture up to 4K60.
An additional HDMI 2.0 loop-out enables simultaneous output of the HDMI input signal to a monitor or another HDMI device.
The UC1218-4K PRO uses a USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface with a theoretical data rate of up to 10 Gbit/s. This enables high-resolution video capture with various pixel formats.
At 3840 × 2160 pixels, up to 60 frames per second are possible in the NV12, I420 and MJPEG formats. Additional supported formats include RGB24, P010 and YUY2, each with different maximum frame rates.
The actual capture resolution depends on the selected pixel format, the software and the performance characteristics of the connected computer.
The integrated HDMI 2.0 loop-out passes the HDMI input signal on to an external monitor, television or further HDMI signal processing.
The HDMI input and loop-out support video signals up to 4K60, 2K144 and 1080p240. This also allows high-resolution and high-frame-rate HDMI sources to be integrated into production workflows.
The HDMI loop-out is particularly useful when the input signal needs to be recorded on a computer and displayed on a separate screen simultaneously.
In addition to audio embedded via HDMI, the UC1218-4K PRO features separate 3.5 mm connectors for microphone and line audio signals. This allows additional audio sources to be integrated into the recording or streaming workflow.
A further 3.5 mm audio output enables the output and monitoring of audio signals. The audio functions allow the combination of HDMI audio, external inputs and audio signals from the connected computer.
Audio transmission via USB follows the UAC standard and supports stereo PCM at 16 bit and 44.1 kHz.
Thanks to support for the UVC (USB Video Class) and UAC (USB Audio Class) standards, the capture box is recognised by compatible operating systems without additional manufacturer-specific drivers.
The device can be used with OBS Studio, vMix, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and other applications for video recording, streaming and video conferencing, among others.
Power is supplied directly via the USB connection. A separate power supply is not required.
