AVMATRIX WM12 DUAL – Wireless Mini Microphone Set - 2 Transmitters - 1 Receiver

The AVMATRIX WM12 is a compact, fully equipped wireless microphone system specifically designed for mobile productions, interviews, micro-video recordings and business presentations. The system operates in the 2.4 GHz frequency band with GFSK modulation and enables automatic pairing between transmitter and receiver within 2 to 5 seconds after power-on. In an open and unobstructed environment, the transmission range reaches up to 100 meters, making the WM12 suitable for more spatially demanding recording situations.

The system is available in two configurations: as the WM12 Single with one transmitter and one receiver (1TX+1RX), and as the WM12 Dual with two transmitters and one receiver (2TX+1RX) for dual-channel audio recording. Content creators, journalists and broadcast professionals benefit from a flexible setup that covers both single-person use and two-person interviews.

Transmitter (TX) – Clip-on Design with Integrated Microphone

The WM12 transmitter impresses with its slim clip-on design and can be attached directly to a collar or clothing. Weighing only 25 grams and with compact dimensions of 34.7 × 50.1 × 20.6 mm, it is barely noticeable even during longer shoots. The integrated omnidirectional microphone captures sound signals from all directions and covers a frequency range of 100 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB). The maximum sound pressure level is 110 dB SPL, and the signal-to-noise ratio is at least 90 dB – figures that ensure clear and high-quality voice recordings in a variety of environments.

External microphones or analog audio sources can be connected via the 3.5 mm TRS input. By pressing and holding the pairing button for 3 seconds, the user can switch between microphone mode and line mode; the current mode is indicated by a colored LED at the input connector – green indicates microphone mode, red indicates analog audio input. The sensitivity of the transmitter can be adjusted in three levels (high, medium, low): high sensitivity is recommended for loud environments or greater recording distances, while low sensitivity helps reduce ambient noise in quiet environments. The switch is confirmed by a triple blink of the LED in red, yellow or green. A double-click of the power button immediately activates mute, allowing for quick and straightforward intervention in the recording workflow.

The transmitter battery life is up to 15 hours with a battery capacity of 300 mAh and an operating voltage of 3.7 V. Charging is via USB Type-C in a maximum of 1.5 hours (5V/1A). A multi-level LED battery status indicator displays the current charge level and provides timely warnings of a low battery.

Receiver (RX) – TFT Display and Versatile Outputs

The WM12 receiver is equipped with a 0.96-inch TFT color LCD display with a resolution of 160 × 80 pixels, providing a clear overview of all relevant status information. The display shows the output volume level and battery status of the receiver, the signal strength of the connected transmitters, dynamic volume levels and the sensitivity configuration of the transmitters. In addition, overload warnings (PK Limit Warning, PK Burst Red) and the current input mode of each transmitter (LINE or MIC) are displayed, enabling precise control of the entire audio path directly on set.

Available outputs include a 3.5 mm TRS headphone output for real-time monitoring and a 3.5 mm TRS line output for connection to cameras, tablets, smartphones and other devices. In addition, the receiver's USB Type-C port simultaneously serves as a charging socket and as a sound card interface, enabling a direct connection to computers for recording or streaming. The output volume is conveniently controlled via the Volume+ and Volume– buttons on the receiver. The receiver battery life is up to 4 hours, and the charging time is also a maximum of 1.5 hours.

Pairing and Operation

In normal operation, pairing between transmitter and receiver occurs automatically within a few seconds of powering on. For manual re-pairing, the pairing button on the transmitter is held for 5 seconds; on the receiver, pairing mode is activated by simultaneously pressing the Volume+ and Volume– buttons for 5 seconds. The connection status is indicated both by LED indicators on the transmitter and by the icon on the receiver's display: if the connection indicator blinks rapidly, the pairing process is in progress; if it lights up continuously and the display icon changes, the connection has been successfully established. If the signal is weak and falls below 20% signal strength, the status indicator blinks every 1.5 seconds as a warning.

The receiver also offers the option to deactivate the display with a brief button press to save power while audio operation continues. The operating temperature range of the entire system is -20 to +60 °C, ensuring reliable use even under changing environmental conditions.

Applications and Compatibility

The WM12 Mini Wireless Microphone System is aimed at content creators, video journalists, presenters and anyone who needs high-quality audio recordings without a complex setup. Thanks to the 3.5 mm TRS output, the system is compatible with a wide range of devices – including DSLR and mirrorless cameras, tablets and smartphones. The combination of the transmitter's long battery life, automatic pairing, three-level sensitivity adjustment, real-time monitoring via display and one-button mute makes the WM12 a practical tool for interviews, social media productions and business presentations. The 2TX+1RX package included in the set enables the simultaneous recording of two independent audio sources, significantly expanding the range of applications.
