The AVMatrix PVS0615U is a portable 6-channel video switcher for live production, streaming, event technology, training, conferencing and mobile production setups. The all-in-one system combines video mixer, audio mixer, multiview monitor, USB live streaming and SD card recording in a compact device.
The integrated 15.6-inch Full-HD display serves as a multiview monitor and shows program, preview, input signals, audio meters, status information and menu overlays directly on the device. This allows the PVS0615U to be used comfortably without a separate control monitor.
The AVMatrix PVS0615U processes up to six video sources. Four inputs are configured as 3G/HD/SD-SDI. Channels 5 and 6 can be used flexibly via HDMI, DVI-I, VGA or USB.
This allows cameras, computers, presentation sources, media players and USB media to be combined in a compact production system. Input signals are automatically detected, and the PGM/AUX output format is selectable.
The 15.6-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels shows a clear multiview interface with program, preview and the six input channels. The sources for channel 5 and channel 6 can be switched between HDMI, DVI, VGA and USB.
Additionally, menu and status information, audio levels and the time are displayed in the multiview. The SDI and HDMI program outputs remain free of menu overlays.
For signal output, 3x SDI Program/AUX, 2x HDMI Program and 1x HDMI Multiview are available. The third SDI output can be used as an AUX output and can be switched between program and preview depending on the application.
The program and AUX outputs support 1080p at 50, 60, 30, 25 and 24 Hz as well as 1080i at 50 and 60 Hz. The HDMI multiview output operates fixed at 1080p60.
The PVS0615U outputs the program signal via USB3.0 as an uncompressed video and audio signal. The streaming output operates according to the UVC/UAC standard and is recognised by compatible operating systems as a capture device without additional drivers.
This makes the switcher suitable for streaming and conferencing software such as OBS Studio, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Google Meet, YouTube Live, Twitch, Wirecast and other applications. Windows, macOS and Linux are supported.
For live operation, the AVMatrix PVS0615U offers classic production functions such as T-Bar, AUTO and CUT. Sources can be switched directly between preview and program.
For smoother transitions, Mix, Fade and Wipe are available. Transition speed can be selected in multiple steps. A fade-to-black function is also included, which is particularly useful during breaks, scene changes or emergencies.
The PVS0615U supports picture-in-picture functions such as PIP and POP. Size, position, border and appearance can be adjusted via the menu.
For graphic overlays, virtual studio applications or green screen productions, Luma Key and Chroma Key are available. Chroma Key can be used with green or blue backgrounds.
Via the USB media player function, video and image files can be used directly as a source for channel 5 or channel 6. Control is performed via dedicated buttons for play, pause, fast forward, rewind, next and back.
Supported video formats include MP4, AVI, MKV, FLV, MPG and MOV with codecs such as H.264, H.265, MPEG4 and MPEG2. For image files, BMP, JPEG and PNG are supported.
The AVMatrix PVS0615U can record the program signal directly to an SD card. Recording is performed in H.264 MP4 format. SD cards up to 512 GB formatted with exFAT or FAT32 are supported.
Recording supports 1080p at 60, 50, 30, 25 and 24 Hz as well as 1080i at 60 and 50 Hz. The recording resolution corresponds to the configured SDI program output.
The integrated audio mixer processes analogue TRS audio signals as well as embedded audio from SDI, HDMI and USB sources. A total of three audio channels can be selected for mixing and controlled via faders.
Audio can be mixed manually in mixing mode or follow the program signal automatically in following mode. A headphone output is also available for audio monitoring.
For multi-camera productions, the PVS0615U is equipped with a 25-pin GPIO tally connector. This allows camera status signals for preview and program to be passed on to compatible tally systems.
Via RJ45 network connectors, system time and firmware functions can be accessed, among other things. The menu also provides settings for language, clock display, audio delay, network parameters and freely assignable function buttons.
