Developed and built by Oscar-winning film engineers, the Cinema Pro has been selected by EPs and producers worldwide for its smoothness, stability, and versatile features. In production for many years, the Cinema Pro is extremely reliable, easy to set up and operate, and capable of performing imperceptibly slow or lightning-fast movements without compromising stability. With an impressive array of standard features and a proud pedigree, it outperforms the competition at a fraction of the price and works with a wide range of film and video cameras.
The Cinema Pro-K2 Pan-Bars Kit is popular with broadcast operators, sports cameramen, and videographers. The pan-bars are ideal for camera movements and easier to learn than the handwheels, so the relatively new motion control features often tend towards the pan-bars option. The pan-bars offer scalable speed, allowing the head's range of motion to be adjusted relative to the movement of the pan-bars. The zoom and focus hand controls on the pan-bars allow seamless single-camera remote control of the camera. The pan-bars are coupled to the advanced console, which features an excellent 3-axis joystick with customizable response for pan/tilt/zoom, oversized control knobs for focus and menu settings, backlit keyboard, and a variety of parametric menu settings and interface options. The system is compatible with virtual set software, motion data import/export, and can directly control servo lenses or can be seamlessly integrated into our TOC external lens drive motor system.
The Cinema Pro is regularly used by crane and jib operators, visual effects studios, sports and racing productions, and feature film crews worldwide. The Cinema Pro is available with a variety of options for camera control, hardware mounting, and even wireless applications up to 1 mile. It is the ultimate affordable true-motion control head with excellent mechanical stability and frame-accurate, scriptable 5-channel control for absolutely precise repeatable motion control sequences. If you have any questions, please email us or call us, or visit one of our demo/rental stations for a hands-on experience.

- Is stabilization / backpan available?
Yes, at an additional cost - What is the max camera weight for CinemaPro?
50 lbs is the maximum payload; 35 lbs is best for full performance. - Is there a delay or "response time" for the handwheels, pan bars, or advanced controller?
When you turn the handwheels, move the pan bars, or use the joystick, the movement starts immediately (no delay time). There is no noticeable lost motion control between systems. As with the advanced controller, the "smoothing" function can also be set to adjust the acceleration/deceleration behavior of the handwheels or pan bars, but all have immediate response time. - Can it be mounted on a Jimmy Jib?
Yes, the Jimmy Jib adapter is available on request. - What is the "intervalometer mode"?
Allows playback and stretching of recorded takes up to a reasonable time span (up to 999 hours). The built-in intervalometer allows closing a switch and triggers any camera that works this way. - What are "soft limits"?
The soft limit is a programmable motion range limit that independently restricts how far the head can pan or tilt, while the stops are smoothed accordingly so that the head neither jerks nor slams on the brakes, regardless of how fast it moves. Soft limits can be set to any desired position or turned off completely. - Software compatibility?
Works with Maya, Kuper, and other CG software. Can be exported to virtual set/studio software. - The CinemaPro is equipped with slip rings - what are they and why are they important?
A slip ring is an electromechanical device that allows the transmission of power and electrical signals within a rotating structure, so no cables are needed that can twist. Slip rings provide unrestricted, continuous rotation in the transmission of power and/or data and allow unlimited 360-degree rotations. Cable connections in a pan/tilt head rotate and create mechanical resistance and a possible connection failure. Since the slip rings are internal, they are also less prone to failure than external cables, which can be easily damaged. The CinemaPro uses high-quality, highly reliable custom slip rings. - What is the coax commutator?
The coax commutator is an integrated option for providing a second set of isolated, dampened slip rings for noise-free video transmission. 1080P HD cannot be transmitted due to the 2 dB signal loss, but 720P may pass through. If the option is not selected, the video signal runs through our standard brushed slip ring and tends to have more signal noise. If you use video only for witnesses, it is more than sufficient. - Can HD pass through the CinemaPro head?
To transmit 1080P HD through our head, the most cost-effective option is a hardwired signal path - this limits rotation and may not be ideal for all applications. The optional coax commutator slip ring of the CinemaPro is noise insensitive but has a 2 dB signal loss, making 1080P HD not work properly, although 720P may pass through. For users recording in-camera, the SD output running through the head may be suitable for monitoring purposes. If you don't need to rotate the head more than 360 degrees, you can of course also use external video cables for your HD needs. - What is the voltage range of the CinemaPro slip rings?
Our slip rings can operate between 0 and 60 VDC and must not exceed 12 amps. - What is the "peripheral cable"?
It is used for virtual set software. - What is an offset plate?
A replacement for the gold-colored mounting plate in the camera platform, allowing a camera to be offset from the center in 1/8" increments to the left or right. We make 1/4" and 1/8" offset plates. - Does the system work only with analog servos like M28VP or is it also compatible with digital lens drives like the Heden M26VE?
It works with both. - Is there iris control via the advanced controller?
No. It is set up as a two-channel lens control for zoom and focus only. The iris can be controlled along with zoom and focus through the TOC lens control system. - Is the pan bars option available with a Mitchell mount?
NO. However, we can provide adapters - What is backlash? Is it a problem?
Backlash is the distance between gear teeth. If there is too much backlash, there can be a movement relief when reversing directions. For this reason, we offer a backlash adjustment in the CP to set it to a minimum. Backlash can be easily adjusted - contact us. - How do you control zoom and focus on the advanced controller?
The large knob at the bottom left controls focus, and the spring-loaded joystick controls zoom when you turn it left or right. - Which lens motors are compatible?
All Canon and Fujinon
